Homeward bound

After a night in a warm room we were woken at 8:32 this morning. This left little time for showers etc and as it was miserable outside, we made our way to breakfast, which was again, very good!  A meander through the streets of Bakewell meant buying cheese, beer and treats for home! We returnedContinue reading “Homeward bound”

Two tarts in Bakewell..

We woke this morning to sunshine. We breakfasted and showered ready for today’s journey to Bakewell.  We left just after 11.00 am and took the scenic route. We saw sheep, cows uninhabited terrain and enjoyed the odd oopla!  We stopped off in Hexham, saw the gaol briefly and had a cuppa and a scone beforeContinue reading “Two tarts in Bakewell..”

Treehouses to Seahouses

We travelled 102 miles to Harrogate and didn’t have to travel very far for breakfast. Just along the road we found Hoxton North: modern with a great vibe and fab food Breakfast demolished we checked out, took a cheeky photo by a flash car, then we were off to Alnwick. Playlist was very 60’s, 70’sContinue reading “Treehouses to Seahouses”

Mind the gap…..

Tonight I watched ‘Mind over marathon’, about 10 people who have mental health issues preparing to run the London Marathon.  I found it heart warming, emotional, inspiring as it shows how we can overcome things in life by feeling worthy, loved and how important it is to talk about these issues. Struggle and stress areContinue reading “Mind the gap…..”

Spring and all it’s beauty

Spring has definitely sprung, and our garden is beginning to bloom. I love this time of year and the last few days have been unseasonably warm. School broke up last week for the Easter break, but a few of us were back on Monday, me for the year end closure. It has been frustrating andContinue reading “Spring and all it’s beauty “

Reliance

Four weeks into 2017 and it has flown by.  I’ve been busy with work, and socially. Learnt how to make a box, made cards, caught up with dear friends, had Jay’s dad stay for a couple nights. I’ve also singed my  hair, been to the cinema and booked a holiday.  I have also been adaptingContinue reading “Reliance”

Eight weeks until Christmas……..

Where has this year gone? We are 5/6th into this year with eight weeks to go until Christmas. With this in mind I have used my time off this week starting preparations and have even bought a few presents! There is still lots to do, and with nine for dinner on Boxing Day I willContinue reading “Eight weeks until Christmas……..”

A new academic year

I’m not going to lie, it’s always a struggle to prepare for the start of a new academic year.  I do work in school closure, but it is a far more relaxed and enjoyable experience. Tuesday saw my first full day and it was tough!  Evening relaxing with the family in the garden helped!  ThursdayContinue reading “A new academic year”

Natural World-Leading Lines

Absolutely love this as purple flowers have broken through, ready to burst into a cacophony of bloom within the next few days. Nature is a wonderful thing, as every year we see plants come to life, propagate and fill the garden with colour and form. I have had these bulbs for two years and thisContinue reading “Natural World-Leading Lines”
