There’s no place like home…..

It seems longer than a week since my last post, probably because it was so eventful. There’s been a few tears, and laughter but so pleased to be home. Last Saturday Nina and I enjoyed a massage, another day at the pool relaxing, enjoying the knee popping DJ ‘s tunes and just after the set…

Mountains out of mole hills

What a week! Sunday saw us visit a new build property, just to gain a few ideas, but this has given me further cause to see this as a viable opportunity Monday was one of two work days this week. I had been looking to go away, but couldn’t get myself together at all to…

2019 part 1

Six months in to 2019 and it’s been full of ups, downs, sadness and joy, with memories made. It didn’t get off to the best start, but with some fortuitous twists we were able to join up with Andrew and Lis in Italy. Totally unexpected and all the sweeter for it! We met up in…

The Italian Job 2

We left Florence by train, and it is a civilised way to travel. Walking out of the station to be greeted by the sight of water was amazing. We bought a pass for the waterbus and we were on our way to the lido! Hotel Biasutti was quaint and not too far a walk from…

The Italian Job 1

Thinking about holiday options, Kevin and I decided to go to Florence and Venice in February, and we used Franky Polaine to help get us booked up to visit in June. We said our goodbyes and arrived in Florence at about 2pm, although we were delayed because a certain Mr Trump flew into Stansted! We…

The water in Majorca….

I booked the trip for Georgina and I earlier this year to provide a few days break in the sun-epic fail on the weather front! Although I was prepared for sun we had little use of the below items. Breakfast at spoons, a good flight and a private transfer, we arrived and were pleased with…

Where is this year going🤗

Can’t believe that there is less than a week left in March, and next week is Easter! Whilst I have a few things booked over the coming months, we haven’t booked a holiday and Kevin is being very reluctant about his 60th birthday celebrations🤔 So I guess I will just get something sorted! I have…

2017

This last year has been well documented by me, but I will post a few photos here too! As is the way, there has been highs (many) and lows (few), but that is life. How we cope with the lows is the important thing, with support of family and friends. Reading through my blogs for…

And back to work

Today I arrived at my desk at 7:15. My desk was remarkably uncluttered, so that was a positive. Emails, signing and seeing colleagues proved a bit of a curate’s egg. Yesterday was not good as I felt lethargic and off kilter. I have been anxious about returning to work and that is how it was manifesting…

Last meal at the Harbour Grill

We opted to eat in the hotel and as it was raining it was a wise decision. Food was delicious, company great and we toasted the holiday, and Colin’s upcoming big birthday next Sunday. We again found ourselves talking about our families, the joy the heartache but also immense pride! It has been awesome and…

Part 4 Kowloon

We were taken back to central and caught the ferry back to Kowloon. This is on the blue route and our final bus ride of the day. More history more shops, more skyscrapers! Back to our hotel walking to get my daily quota in!

HK part 2 Aberdeen, Stanley and Repulse Bay

The green route covers the North of the island with a good commentary of the history of HK. It seems less urbanised than the South, more of a holiday location. Again I was challenged with twists and turns but breathtaking views! As part of this route we enjoyed a Sampan ride- part 3
