Term 7 Week 3

This has been one of the hardest weeks and has brought many insecurities and vulnerabilities to light. Suffice to say my family have been supportive and encouraging. The battle continues…but I’ve made a decision to seek professional help. So just some photos from the week.

In your corner

I’ve had an incredible day today watching the last match in this year’s 6 nations. England were trouncing Scotland almost keeping the score the same as the minutes played tally. I don’t know what Gregor said at half time, or what they said to themselves, but it worked! Suffice to say England scored in the…

A chance to relax

We are midway through March, this year is going so fast! Today Georgina and I are having a spa day and we are really looking forward to it! The challenges over the last few weeks have been exhausting but light is at the end of the tunnel and positive outcomes are aplenty! The next few…

Half term

Since the turn of the new year it’s been frantic, but the weeks have flown by The Guinness six nations has begun and half term has arrived! I’ve noticed that it’s lighter in the mornings, darker later in the evening and even seen a snowdrop or two. That always fills me with joy. I’ve also…

Trick or treat

What a week, full of treats certainly, but fortunately no tricks! I’ve made a conscious effort to switch off from work, and with only two mornings in I’ve succeeded. Kevin and I enjoyed afternoon tea, bought a new car, I’ve made cards, baubles and been to the cinema. The house has been cleaned, the garden…

Autumn half term-term1

Today sees the start of half term, after an eventful seven weeks. The school has a new Head teacher, and that with the start of the academic year has brought fresh challenges, transparency, joy, and a real buzz. No two days have been the same, and I have been pushed to my absolute limit: HR,…

First week completed

So it was back to school on Monday, a new term, new academic year and a new Headteacher. You could feel the buzz around school and INSET for the first two days there was real sense of doing things together. I, after 13 years, had the opportunity to welcome support staff and also on day…

Hard day’s night

What a week! I don’t feel that I have achieved very much at all. Everyday has brought a fresh challenge, some more daunting than others I’ve retreated to the garden of an evening, watching for the little changes to the shapes and colours. Changes to Data Protection come into force next Friday, and there is…

Thank you

Twists and turns a plenty this week, trying to balance the budget. It’s been stressful and after months of sleeping well, these last few weeks have provided sleep deprivation. One of the ways to try to balance the budget is not to replace staff who have left: never an easy decision. Even harder is to…

Perceptions

This week has been a strange one, lots of excitement and opportunity and not much time to get things done. Early mornings and late nights with a foray into the unknown. A night at home with Kevin spending time with his mum, an opportunity for reflection. This week I’ve been told I’m scary at work,…

2017

This last year has been well documented by me, but I will post a few photos here too! As is the way, there has been highs (many) and lows (few), but that is life. How we cope with the lows is the important thing, with support of family and friends. Reading through my blogs for…

Paddle boards, palms and a puffer fish…

Here we are on a paradise island, with some of the people I love most, and I have had the fog descend on me. I have thought I could ‘just get over it’, but I have noticeably withdrawn. There is no rhyme or reason per se, but the kids noticed it. After our beach trip…
