Walking, winding roads, wine, women and Wisley

A weekend of all the above and so much more. Time to laugh, talk, have fun, and enjoy simple pleasures.

Lots of miles driving on motorways, roads and tracks.

Friday and an early start to drive to Kent. A warm welcome by Jenny and a chance to catch up whilst enjoying a quintessential English view. Others arrived and we got ready to walk. First stop Yotes Court vineyard, a bottle of Rose then another walk through the countryside to a pub for lunch

The lunch at the Swan on the Green, a community pub was delicious. Two other friends arrived and we sat outside chatting and getting ready for the walk back

The walk back took about 40 minutes and we got freshened up for dinner. More chat about new businesses, opportunities, and what we have to look forward to. Im so lucky to have this group of women in my life. A drive to the Mereworth Winery and Taproom, where we enjoyed pizzas and burgers. More chat, laughter and it was time for us to leave. Two of us stayed with Jenny, and two stayed with Sarah.

Saturday morning and I was off early to drive to near Dorking to The Hannah Peshar Sculpture Garden. I’d wanted to visit for ten years and I jumped at the chance to go. It was worth it, and it really deserves a blog of it’s own, so that will follow with a smorgasbord of photos.

I met Elaine and Jane there and we enjoyed a walk following the map, which worked a treat. A bit peckish we made our way to the Milk Churn about 4 miles away and enjoyed a late lunch.

The drive to Brighton was good and we sat outside and dinner was prepared. There were some tears, laughter and a chance to discuss a few things whilst the sun set.

All too soon and it was Sunday and my next jaunt after breakfast was to RHS Wisley-a first for me. I met my cousin and her husband there and we strolled around admiring so many of the plants. We talked about future events, holiday plans and all things life……

It’s been a lovely weekend and I’ve much to be happy about, and it was lovely to return home and see River and Brodie.

Life can often be stressful, but days like these can ease the stress and make you realise how good life can be, and how precious family and friends are.
